Ikaruga's Estival Versus Theme

Senran Kagura Estival Versus is a game with a good to great soundtrack.  The character themes in particular are pretty good.  But among them, there's only one theme that truly says, "Out of the way!  Badass coming through!"  That is Ikaruga's theme, The Quest Of Hien's Wielder.

As soon as that theme hits, it just sounds like an ass-whuppin' is coming.  The ominous electric guitar mixes with classical music and a splash of Japanese flavor.  It's perfect for someone who looks like a beating waiting to happen, yet still manages to look cute.

Funny Things From Trails Of Cold Steel

During my Trails Of Cold Steel review for the PS3, I stated that the game was good fun, even though it suffered from Too Much Talking syndrome.  Having played the PS4 remaster, however, I actually paid attention to the stuff that was being said instead of just mashing through to get to the next fighting section.  As a result, I noticed a few things that I didn't while I was running my way through the PS3 original.  Most were just things that made me laugh, but probably weren't that funny.

One thing, however, made me laugh because it was just embarrassing.  This is the start of an exchange between two unnamed students.  It's harmless enough, right?

Sure you won't take an ass-whuppin' saying that to a girl?

So, how does the girl respond to essentially being called a fat, hungry pig.  Does she fire back with her own barb?  Does she tell him to shut up.  No.  She says this...

Translation error or vicious barb?  You be the judge.

What?  What does that mean?  Why would the female student just say "Female student"?  Is she calling the boy a female student?  Is she just saying it for the sake of saying it?  Is it a localization screw up?  Whatever is it, I laughed my ass off the first time I saw it.  I mean, what is that?  It's almost as weird as the guy in Zelda 2 who says, "I am error."

Anyway, here's some other stuff I found funny.  Some of it may actually be funny, but then again none of it might be.  But my sense of humor is different from most other people.

Yep.  Rean's getting a boner.

Her name is Jane?  And she runs a flower shop?  She just a machine gun away from becoming...

This girl looks totally baked.

Okay, I'll admit this one is just me.

Don't look downstairs, Alisa, unless you want to be embarrased.

You can't go into the girls' locker room...even if you're playing as a girl?

My teacher can kick your teacher's ass.

Patrick rips into everyone's ass.  And "jaeger-tot."  Ha ha!

Videogame Hotties: Sara Valestein

She a badass teacher.  She's also just a bad teacher.  She has secrets.  She's always aware of what's going on.  It's Sara Valestein from Trails Of Cold Steel.

Instructor Sara is the homeroom teacher of Class 7 at Thor's Military Academy.  However, she wasn't hired for her teaching skills.  No, she was hired for her "other" skill, which involve beating the crap out of things with her gun and sword.

All the better to whup some ass with.

She also partakes in heavy drinking...

Drinking in front of the students?  How does this lady still have a job?

Look at all those big-ass liquor bottles in her room.

...being lazy...

She must have lectured herself to sleep.

...and complaining.

Suck it up.  You're a teacher.

Her peers question her daily...

He has a point.

...as do her students.

She can hear you, you know.

She's not without her good points, though.  She's hip to gaming culture...

Great.  Now let's talk about the GOOD Sonic games.

...and though she's a bad teacher, she is a willing one.

Whoever doesn't take an ass-whuppin' gets an A.

Sometimes she acts like she gives a darned.

It ALMOST like she's trying to be a role model.

And she is beautiful.  Even her own students acknowledge it.

A compliment is a compliment, even if it's backhanded.  Give him an A.
